VaBang! brings new and old works to the stage at their Spring season at Dance Mission Theater. New works include Accompaniment - a new piece which reconceptualizes the boundaries between audience and performers; a new duet; as well as a reconstructed piece first set at Vassar College in 2003 by Julia Sabangan.

This performance will feature dancers from both the SF and the NYC company for the first time in VaBang!’s history.

VaBang! Dance Company will be returning to their alma mater to perform for the first time since their founding.

Come join VaBang! at their Vassar premiere May 6 in Poughkeepsie, NY at the newly renovated Kenyon Hall Theater.

VaBang! will be performing at Vassar’s newly renovated Kenyon Hall Theater on May 6, 2009 on campus in Poughkeepsie, NY. The theater seats up to 236 people and is state-of-the-art. Come join us for this rare alumni performance. Save the date!

ArtSpan, SF’s arts organization which organizes SF Open Studios every year, has invited VaBang! to perform for over 400 of their attendees this year at their Fall Private Preview Gala on October 4 from 5:30-8:30PM. Rather than a set show, VaBang! and ArtSpan have collaborated to conceive of a new performance experience in which the attendees pass through the performance outside as they enter the event.

VaBang! is pleased to announce that its SF and LA premieres (four shows) sold out. In it first year, VaBang! over-sold four of its six shows in NYC, SF and LA.

Thank you to everyone who came to support us. We are thrilled to be heading into our second year.

VaBang! has a pledge of $10,000 contingent on another $10,000 match (for increasing dancer pay from $7 an hour to $10 an hour) from an anonymous, generous donor. Our SF premiere this weekend (August 23 + 24) has only two more tickets left for Sunday night on the website but there will be about 10 tickets each night at the door for standing room and cushions on the floor.
