VaBang! will be performing at Vassar’s newly renovated Kenyon Hall Theater on May 6, 2009 on campus in Poughkeepsie, NY. The theater seats up to 236 people and is state-of-the-art. Come join us for this rare alumni performance. Save the date!
ArtSpan, SF’s arts organization which organizes SF Open Studios every year, has invited VaBang! to perform for over 400 of their attendees this year at their Fall Private Preview Gala on October 4 from 5:30-8:30PM. Rather than a set show, VaBang! and ArtSpan have collaborated to conceive of a new performance experience in which the attendees pass through the performance outside as they enter the event.

VaBang! is pleased to announce that its SF and LA premieres (four shows) sold out. In it first year, VaBang! over-sold four of its six shows in NYC, SF and LA.

VaBang! has a pledge of $10,000 contingent on another $10,000 match (for increasing dancer pay from $7 an hour to $10 an hour) from an anonymous, generous donor. VaBang! has begun its collaboration with post-beat jazz poet Steve Dalachinsky. Steve performed in VaBang!’s world premiere in NYC March 29 and 30 for two of the three shows. Check out Steve’s first poem about VaBang! here:
